Among the advantages of learning to fly at Midlands Flight Training is that besides expert tuition, you don’t even need to have a model of your own. A fully equipped training aircraft is available for trainees. Each aircraft is maintained to a very high standard and has dual control radio, allowing the instructor to regain control almost immediately, should the need arise. Your instructor willl be happy to help if you prefer to use your own equipment or would like to set up and test fly your own model.
Midlands Flight Training is able to cater for all levels of competence and will provide bespoke training sessions for more experienced pilots wishing to develop their skills.
We encourage the development of safe model flying practice and will provide the opportunity to achieve the British Model Flying Association 'A' or 'B' achievement awards. These Radio Control Achievement Award schemes encourage model flyers to reach a nationally accepted standard of flying ability and safe practice and include a certified proof of achievementr.
There are two grades;
- The ‘A’ Certificate which may be equated to a ‘safe solo’ standard of flying.
- The ‘B’ Certificate which is designed to recognise a more advanced pilot’s increased ability and knowledge and a demonstrated high level of safety.
